Job Description:
The service manager has responsibility for coordinating staff and resources to achieve high standards of care, considering the physical, social, and psychological needs of service users. Ensuring welfare, compliance with standards, and statutory requirements are key. The role involves operating within legislative frameworks, promoting values and care ethos, and managing multiple supported living projects and community activities for adults and children under Lynton Community Care, reporting to the Registered Individual.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Referring, assessing, and developing personalized care and risk management plans.
2. Maintaining good communication with service users, relatives, and professionals.
3. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices, including the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Health & Safety, COSHH, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
4. Controlling the environment, ensuring health and safety, infection control, and risk assessments are up to date.
5. Cooperating with CIW and understanding Fundamental Standards, carrying out statutory notifications.
6. Managing legal and statutory documentation, including insurance and enrollment documents.
7. Documenting maintenance issues and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
8. Monitoring, investigating complaints, generating reports, and implementing corrective actions.
9. Recruiting, inducting, and training staff, supporting team development.
10. Promoting openness, supporting staff decision-making, and service improvements.
11. Holding staff meetings, supervising, and supporting staff, including disciplinary processes.
12. Managing staff schedules, rotas, absences, and holiday management.
13. Managing medication processes, budgeting, and expenditure monitoring.
14. Safeguarding service users and managing safeguarding issues.
15. Applying for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and working with personal representatives to ensure legal compliance.
16. Providing out-of-hours advice, attending incidents.
17. Participating in supervision, CPD, and strategic growth activities.
18. Performing other duties as assigned by the Director, including financial management and report writing.
The role requires skills and qualifications to support both adults and children with learning disabilities.
