The Medical Device Service support users of medical equipment across all of our hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance.
You will have a key role in supporting the department’s responsibility for the maintenance, repair and sub‑contractor management of medical equipment. This will include first‑line support to users of medical equipment to optimise system uptime to gain maximum use of medical equipment.
Ideally, you will possess a minimum of an HNC in electronic engineering and have relevant experience since qualifying in the field of medical equipment. Knowledge in the application and repair on a wide range of medical equipment used in a hospital and community is essential, although some specific training will be provided.
Consideration may be given to applicants with reduced knowledge and skills, who follow a personnel development programme on a reduced grade.
Please note that, for this post, you will be required to have obtained a full UK Driving Licence.
* You will provide specialist technical knowledge for the implementation and delivery of a long‑term operational plan for cost‑effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the care organisations.
* You will be working towards achieving compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance including downtime and ensuring that systems are available to enable clinical teams to have insight into progress with maintenance and repair of their devices.
