Position: Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Permanent)
Salary: £40K - £50K (based on experience)

Are you a skilled and passionate Senior Geotechnical Engineer looking for your next career challenge? Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional to join their expanding team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of geotechnical engineering projects across the north of England, with occasional assignments across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
* Technical Expertise: Produce Geo-environmental Desk Studies, Site Investigation Reports, Coal Mining Risk Reports, and specifications for grouting of mine workings and earthworks.
* Client Interaction: Attend client meetings, supervise site work, and occasionally carry out fieldwork such as logging boreholes and trial pits.
* Team Leadership: Assist the Department Head with daily management, supervise junior staff, and contribute to their professional development.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Qualifications: Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology (essential), with a Masters in Engineering Geology or Environmental Geology (desirable). Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status or working towards it (essential).
* Experience: Preferably 10 years in ground investigation techniques, supervision, sampling, testing, and report writing (minimum 5 years for exceptional candidates).
* Skills: Strong knowledge of geotechnical and contamination issues, earthworks, remediation, and regulatory consultations.
* Desirable Skills: Slope stability assessment, CLEA Risk Assessment, Groundwater DQRA.
