The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the environment meets the needs and expectations of patients, visitors, and the Ward/Unit. The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team and will be responsible for coordinating all patient facilities and services in the area, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
1. Develop and maintain systems for the upkeep of all areas, ensuring that patients, trolleys, and cubicles/waiting rooms are free from clutter at all times.
2. Implement systems to ensure the unit is safe and tidy, including tidy notice boards, signage, shelving, and work desk areas.
3. Liaise with domestic staff to monitor the standard of patients’ curtains, ensuring they are of consistent design and in good repair.
4. Ensure that alcohol gel dispensers, paper towels, and soap for hand hygiene are replenished to prevent cross-infection within the clinical area.
5. Ensure processes are in place for cleaning, maintaining, and correctly storing patient equipment, such as monitors.
