This role will provide expert technical guidance in the area of physical sciences to support Mondelez/RSSL’s business objectives. The principal responsibilities include:
* Provide expert consultancy internally and externally.
* Guide portfolio of analytical techniques globally and become the “point person” for rheology, texture and thermal analysis at Reading.
* Liaise across the business to undertake specialist projects and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality data.
* Communicate results and actionable next steps to clients and internal stakeholders.
* Upskill team members and deliver complex projects in the area of expertise.
* Influence and represent RSSL/Mondelēz at external scientific institutions and industry committees.
* Deliver presentations to senior technical stakeholders and at external events.
* Maintain high safety and quality standards and comply with GMP/UKAS requirements.
Key knowledge, skills and experience required are:
* Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, with 10+ years of laboratory experience in rheology, texture or thermal analysis.
* In‑depth knowledge of the technical area and regulatory requirements.
* Strong written and spoken communication skills with ability to influence and manage relationships.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills, capable of meeting tight timescales.
* Technical credibility to develop good relationships with internal and external clients.
* Experience of strategic planning, delivery and authoring technical reports.
* Proven experience of presenting findings at relevant symposia.
* English fluency (written and spoken).
