Pharmacist – Independent Community Pharmacy (Ashvale)
Location: Ashvale, Village-based Independent Community Pharmacy
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (plus performance bonus)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, regular Pharmacist to join our busy and well-established Independent Community Pharmacy in Ashvale. Our pharmacy dispenses around 15,000 items per month and has a loyal patient base within the local village community.
You will be supported by a strong, experienced team of dispensers and counter staff, many of whom have been with us for years. In addition, our management team is always on hand to provide guidance and support, ensuring you are never without backup.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Pharmacist who enjoys working in a patient-focused environment and is keen to expand their clinical services offering.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Provide patient counselling on safe and effective medication use, including side effects and interactions.
* Conduct Medication Administration Reviews (MARs) to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care plans.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records of prescriptions, services, and patient interactions.
* Keep up to date with new medicines, treatments, and best practice guidelines in pharmacy.
* Support and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
* Deliver and promote new clinical services such as:
* Pharmacy First & clinical pathways
* Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC)
* Contraception service
* Blood pressure checks
Qualifications & Skills
* GPhC registered Pharmacist (essential).
* Strong knowledge of pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology.
* Proven ability to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and healthcare professional engagement.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
