Electrical Shift Engineer – Billingham – £47,830 Package + HV Training

A leading global facilities management provider is seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer to join their site-based team in Billingham. The successful candidate will join a large, high-performing engineering contract that supports a critical facility. Full HV training will be provided as this will be a requirement of the role.

Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights, 7am–7pm). This role is maintenance-focused – not installation work – and will suit engineers with prior experience in high-compliance environments such as hospitals, manufacturing plants, laboratories, or data centres.
Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks across electrical systems

Responding to breakdowns and faults, and completing repairs efficiently
*
Working on lighting systems, LV distribution, emergency lighting, power supply, and controls
*
Supporting BMS alarm monitoring and responding to HVAC-related issues
*
Assisting with generator testing and basic UPS or inverter checks
*
Carrying out isolations and safe systems of work, supporting the permit-to-work process
*
Completing shift handovers, logs, and compliance reports accurately
*
Assisting with minor mechanical and fabric tasks when required
*
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with H&S procedures and client standards
Qualifications & Experience Required:

City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Electrical Engineering
*
City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
*
Strong electrical building services maintenance background
*
Experience in critical or regulated environments (e.g. healthcare, pharma, data centres) preferred
*
Good knowledge of building systems – lighting, power, distribution boards, etc.
*
Willingness to work 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days & nights)
*
HVAP not essential – full HV training will be provided

£41,000 basic salary

£5,330 shift allowance

£1,500 yearly HVAP allowance once trained
