Due to rapid growth and ongoing success, we are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join our Fortem team across the Grimsby and Boston areas. This is a permanent, full-time position supporting the operational management of our social housing refurbishment programme.
The Project
This role involves working within the Lincolnshire Housing Partnership social housing contract, supporting an increase in Retrofit projects.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Assistant Site Manager responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with the management and safe delivery of social housing refurbishment works.
2. Reporting to the Site Manager, overseeing contractors and operational refurbishment/construction across tenanted properties.
3. Ensuring all works comply with BS7671 and other relevant standards.
4. Providing clear work instructions to trades or subcontractors, maximizing productivity.
5. Leading a team of supply chain partners to resolve issues during their works.
6. Conducting safety inspections on supply chain partners.
7. Monitoring work in progress (WIPs) on directly employed tradespeople.
8. Performing quality inspections on all works.
9. Organizing work activities and prioritization for the team.
10. Completing accident reports in case of injuries.
11. Managing welfare facilities on site.
12. Supporting tenants daily to achieve high customer satisfaction.
Personal Qualities
Essential:
* Experience in social housing refurbishment programmes.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* IT proficiency, including MS Office, ECDL, MS Project.
* Ability to engage with people and build strong relationships with trades, colleagues, clients, and managers.
* Experience working in a planned works environment/site.
* CSCS Card.
* Flexibility to undertake regular travel.
Desirable:
* Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance.
* Understanding of job costing.
* SMSTS certification.
* Experience with Retrofit projects such as PV, Heat Pumps, EWI/External Wall Insulation.
