Role Profile:
Role Purpose:
Policy Technicians support their broking team within their Operating Entity by providing technical and administrative assistance, including interaction with clients, and assisting with the production of policy and cover documentation. Senior Policy Technicians, with significant experience, also mentor junior staff.
Key Accountabilities:
Planning/Reporting:
* Manage assigned projects and contribute to others
* Meet targets
* Participate in team meetings and report on progress
* Provide management information to senior management
Technical:
* Assist in creating broking, client, and other documents
* Check slips, quotes, and indications for accuracy
* Maintain up-to-date records on company systems
* Interpret instructions and implement actions accordingly
* Produce reports and MI for decision-making
* Maintain knowledge of policy wording and requirements
* Review client application and renewal documentation for accuracy
* Use specific references and systems like CRYTSAL and AXCO to understand policy wording
* Stay informed of regulatory and legal changes impacting the role
* Respond to urgent issues appropriately
Policy, Process, and Procedures:
* Ensure documentation and communications adhere to company procedures and compliance
* Process data accurately to support client service and internal processes
* Maintain client files and ensure prompt, accurate documentation
* Obtain necessary authorizations
Environment, Customer Focus, and Relationships:
* Develop strong relationships within the divisional teams
* Respond to team requirements
* Provide high-quality service to clients and third parties
* Behave ethically and fairly with all clients
* Share beneficial information within the group
* Manage delegate authority contracts effectively
People Management/Personal Development:
The role does not include direct reports. The individual should pursue personal development, stay informed of industry and legal developments, and maintain high standards of practice.
Regulatory and Compliance:
* Comply with all legal, fiscal, and regulatory obligations
* Follow proper authorization and process procedures
* Keep HR and T&C records updated
* Maintain accurate records and handle correspondence professionally
* Operate ethically and adhere to the Group Employee Code of Conduct
* Complete relevant regulatory training
Person Specification:
Knowledge/Experience:
* Experience as a policy technician or similar role
* Experience in a client-facing environment
* Good knowledge of FCA regulations related to insurance
* Understanding of insurance market processes
Skills/Behaviours:
* Attention to detail
* Teamwork and query resolution skills
* Organizational and prioritization skills
* Self-motivation and initiative
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Effective communication skills
* Willingness to undertake technical training and exams
Qualifications:
* GCSEs including English and Math
* A-levels or equivalent
* Progress towards professional qualifications (e.g., CII) is desirable
