we are on the lookout for a Chemist to join our team.
About the Role
Reporting into the Quality Manager, the successful Chemist will be working in the Cement Plant Operations Division as part of a team to collect and analyse QA samples. You will demonstrate a high level of safety awareness, leading by example, and ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and policies.
What you'll be doing
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties (not exhaustive):
1. Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and Company Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
2. Fostering safety and environmental awareness amongst employees in accordance with objectives and programs.
3. Reporting and investigating SHE incidents and near hits.
4. Maintaining cleanliness within the laboratory area, monitoring working conditions and environmental issues.
5. Conducting daily testing and non-routine sampling using XRF, XRD, and other techniques, along with the use of all associated sample preparation equipment.
6. Maintaining accurate chemical calibrations and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
7. Providing reliable analytical services for Quality Control and Process Optimization.
8. Participating in project testing of potential new products or raw materials.
