Overview
Speech & Language Therapist – Adult Acute SLT Service, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Fixed‑term band 6–7 covering maternity leave, 0.5 WTE in Adult Acute and 0.5 WTE in Head & Neck. Provides specialist input across adult acute wards and Head & Neck cancer/oncology and ENT services.
Responsibilities
* Manage a complex caseload of adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties across medical, respiratory, surgical and oncology services (including brain tumours).
* Provide specialist SLT input in Head & Neck Cancer / Oncology and ENT (Voice) services.
* Conduct and lead outpatient instrumental assessment clinics (Videofluoroscopy (VFS), Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), Surgical Voice Restoration).
* Triage referrals and support timely prioritisation within the adult acute SLT service.
* Support and supervise junior staff and students.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, training and service development.
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong experience in ENT and Head & Neck Cancer/Oncology.
* Expertise in voice assessment and therapy.
* Competence in flexible nasendoscopy (FNE) and laryngeal evaluation.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, training and service development.
