We are currently looking fora full time Canteen Assistant to join our onsite canteen team at our office/ distribution centre in Openshaw, Manchester. As a Canteen Assistant, you will be an integral part of the Richer Sounds team. You will be expected to provide canteen support including, but not limited to food preparation, cleaning and serving food to colleagues. Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm (During our peak period in November/ December there may be some weekend work required). Role Responsibilities: Assisting with the preparation, setting up and serving of a variety of meals and snacks in line with food hygiene regulations along with other general assistance within the canteen. Cleaning and safely storing kitchen equipment and dining furniture as required in designated areas. Assisting with catering production and cooking duties for example meals, soup, sandwiches etc. Keep on top of the stock rotation system and the appropriate storage of food goods and catering consumable stock. Cashier duties and be responsible for operating a cashless register and catering system. Covering the canteens Supervisor and taking the lead when they are not present. Working in a safe and hygienic manner, assisting colleagues and ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations at all times. Providing a customer focused service, which is courteous and responsive and meets the needs of the colleagues at all times. To undertake similar tasks, including cleaning duties and deputising for other support colleagues, as may be determined your line manager on occasion. Who we are looking for: Successful candidates should have excellent organisation and cleaning skills with strong attention to detail, as well as knowledge of food preparation techniques. Should demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for legendary customer service, ensuring they are personable and friendly to all colleagues, visitors and clients. A willingness to be flexible & adaptable within the workplace and possessing a friendly and helpful outlook, you can look forward to joining & working in a very dynamic and friendly team. Excellent attendance and time keeping record. The use of a vehicle is preferable but not essential. The capacity to rarely cover weekends during peak trading periods where required (November/December).
