* Support documentation updates, risk assessments and technical decision‑making related to these safety‑critical systems.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance fleet availability, operational performance and lifecycle management.
* Participate in the on‑call engineering rota, responding to safety incidents and operational needs as required.

You'll need...

* Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/D or Degree) with proven expertise in rolling stock braking and pneumatic systems, including design, maintenance, testing and system improvements.
* Strong technical knowledge of pneumatics, electro‑pneumatics, mechanical and regenerative braking, system integration, and safety‑critical braking requirements.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in rolling stock engineering, with the ability to lead technical investigations, diagnose complex faults and interpret engineering drawings and standards.
* Solid understanding of railway regulations and standards (e.g. TSI, EN, UIC, ISO) and experience supporting certification, homologation and engineering changes.
* Skilled in reliability and maintenance engineering, including FMEA, failure investigations, obsolescence management, and collaborating with suppliers and performance teams.
* Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally, use Microsoft Office effectively, and operate in both English (advanced) and French (desirable).
