Job Overview
We are looking for experienced, driven, enthusiastic Security professionals with the desire to learn and progress in the ever‑evolving security industry by gaining exposure and experience across a variety of prestigious client bases, including Government contracts.
Main Duties
* Protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AI) and any subsequent changes.
* Deliver results that meet and/or exceed Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreements for the customer, taking full responsibility and accountability.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
* Ensure compliance with all aspects of policies, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the AI’s.
* Proactively review the AI’s and suggest amendments that improve or enhance service quality.
* Comply with industry and statutory legislation, holding the required front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and CCTV PSS SIA Licence at all times.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work in a systematic, methodical and orderly manner.
* Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce risk.
* Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct when dealing with difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly after any incident; these feed the Incident Report process.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the AI’s.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications
* Previous Security Experience.
* SIA Licence.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to go above and beyond to support the client.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Crime, Civil Law, and Police & Criminal Evidence Act.
