SEND Deputy Head of Year (Non-Teaching)
Location: Redbridge
Salary: £27,954 - £29,202 pro rata (FTE £32,535 - £33,987)
Contract: 36 hours per week | 44.8 weeks per year
Start Date: Easter 2026
Aspire People are working in partnership with a high-performing secondary academy in East London to recruit an experienced and motivated SEND Deputy Head of Year.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a key role in supporting vulnerable learners and strengthening inclusive practice within a well-established pastoral team.
SEND Deputy Head of Year - About the Role
You will work closely with senior pastoral leaders and the SEND team to promote a culture of high expectations and ensure that students with additional needs are fully supported to achieve their potential.
You will help develop inclusive practice across your year group, establish a SEND satellite hub, and maintain strong communication with parents and external agencies to deliver effective, personalised support.
SEND Deputy Head of Year - Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and support the academic, social and emotional progress of vulnerable students
* Work collaboratively with pastoral and SEND teams to improve outcomes
* Support attendance, behaviour, rewards and sanctions within your year group
* Contribute to assemblies and year-group initiatives
* Maintain strong communication with parents, carers and external professionals
* Promote consistent routines, expectations and school values
