Academics are working closely with a fantastic specialist school in Tilehurst that supports children and young people aged 3-19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. They are seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their caring and committed team as soon as possible on a full-time basis. This school prides itself on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes independence, confidence, and a love for learning. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both students and teachers to ensure every child can access a meaningful education.
Key Information - SEN Teaching Assistant:
Location: Tilehurst
Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00, Term-time only)
Start date: ASAPYou could be an ideal SEN Teaching Assistant if you:
Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs
Are calm, resilient, and nurturing in your approach
Hold a minimum Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE Maths and English
Have prior experience working with children or in a school/SEN setting
Are looking to build a career in special education, psychology, or therapeutic supportDay-to-Day Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis in class and during interventions
Assisting with planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons
Helping students to develop communication, social, and life skills
Managing and responding to emotional and behavioural needs appropriately
