Role

Facilities Assistant (Relief Domestic) to work at Stepping Hill Hospital and cover Stockport Community Areas. Working Pattern: Monday to Sunday, 5 days over 7. The postholder will be a member of the Trust’s Facilities team and will provide a comprehensive relief cleaning service across the Trust (in-patient and community settings). The role may include working on wards, clinics or admin areas. Weekend work to provide relief as required by weekly rota.


Main duties of the job

The Facilities Assistant (Relief Domestic) is responsible for relief cleaning duties in all areas including clinical, sanitary and administration areas, in accordance with the cleaning schedule, policy and procedures. Duties include:

* Follow infection control, COSHH and health and safety procedures.
* Follow cleaning schedules to ensure areas achieve required cleanliness at all times.
* Report incidents or near misses per Trust policy.
* Ensure cleaning equipment and machinery are stored correctly and report defects to the supervisor.
* Dispose of all categories of waste safely and in accordance with Trust guidelines.
* Work on a weekly rota to cover relief shifts, including weekends and evenings as required.
* Be familiar with and comply with all Trust and departmental policies and procedures.
* Attend mandatory and required training (including online training).
* Work as part of the team to complete cleaning tasks in all areas.
* Carry out other reasonable duties as required by supervisors.

Person specification

* NVQ 2 or equivalent experience
* Experience of cleaning services, COSHH, colour coding
* Knowledge of Health & Safety techniques
* Experience working to NHS National Cleaning Standards
* Knowledge of Health & Safety
