Risk & Regulatory Legal Counsel VP (PBWM)
Join us as a Risk & Regulatory Legal Counsel VP in the Private Bank & Wealth Management (PBWM) Legal Team, where you will play a key role in managing compliance with the legal risk framework and providing regulatory legal support to the PBWM business.
Role
The primary responsibilities include leading the team's support for Laws, Rules & Regulations (LRRs) Risk Management, such as:
* Managing the inventory of PBWM’s LRRs in the UK and EU
* Breaking down LRRs into key obligations
* Conducting Legal Adequacy Reviews of business controls related to LRRs
* Updating LRRs and assessing the impact of regulatory changes
* Implementing new LRRs into the risk framework and supporting governance
The secondary focus is providing general regulatory legal support to PBWM stakeholders.
Key Skills Required
* Qualified lawyer with experience in financial services regulation
* Knowledge of legal risk governance, policies, and procedures
* Strong interpretation and analysis skills
* Focus on controls and regulatory compliance
* Solutions-oriented, resilient, with excellent communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and build stakeholder relationships
Preferred Criteria
* Experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management
* Knowledge of UK, Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, and Isle of Man jurisdictions
* Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced work
* Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
* Enjoyment of collaborative team environments across multiple locations

Ensure PBWM activities comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and help manage legal and reputational risks.

* Developing legal strategies to manage risk
* Providing legal advice on products/services
* Supporting legal proceedings and regulatory investigations
* Reviewing legal documents and maintaining legal templates
* Staying updated on legal and regulatory changes
* Creating and delivering training on legal requirements
* Proactively advising on applicable laws and regulations
