Fenland District Council is an award-winning progressive organisation, set in the heart of a scenic and unique rural landscape in north Cambridgeshire with affordable house prices, diverse market towns and villages with good transport links to London, Cambridge, Peterborough, and the North Norfolk coast.
Our positive, can-do culture enables us to punch above our weight and empowers staff to go that extra mile in delivering important services for local people.
The environmental health service is looking for a new team member to carry on the excellent work of our current food lead officer. We are looking for a committed individual with strong organisational, communication and professional skills.
An experience in food safety enforcement is a must including a passion for delivering fair and effective services and the ability to inspire others.
You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and able to work alone as well as with a small and very professional team of staff. The successful candidate will be rewarded by the specialist and unique learning and development experience which will take your career to the next level.
The Fenland District offers a diverse range of food businesses, from large national and international food manufacturers to an ever-increasing number of catering outlets and home based businesses; we have responsibility for monitoring a live bivalve mollusc shellfish bed for microbiological contamination and are a member of our local shellfish liaison group; we also act as Port Health Authority and carry out ship sanitation inspections as per international health regulations.
Applicants must be a fully qualified environmental health officer, holding the Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board.
We offer a flexible and hybrid working solution, a supportive and friendly team plus a staff benefits package.
