About the Role
Spencer Ogden are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager (General Site Manager) to support the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project in the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site professional with a strong background in heavy civils and infrastructure to work on a high-profile development within the UK’s growing energy sector. You will support the Senior Site Manager and Project Manager in coordinating multiple subcontractors and ensuring all site activities are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Site Manager and Project Manager with day-to-day site coordination.
* Lead and manage multiple subcontractors and work teams across various work fronts.
* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.
* Work in line with Siemens Energy QEHS procedures and site rules.
* Identify and report potential schedule deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
* Promote a proactive health, safety, and environmental culture on site.
* Support documentation, reporting, and delivery of project milestones.
Experience & Background
* Proven experience in heavy civils within construction, energy, or infrastructure projects.
* Background as a Construction Manager, Site Manager, General Foreman, or Works Superintendent.
* Experience within substation or HVDC environments advantageous.
* Comfortable managing subcontractors, teams, and SSOWs.
* Familiarity with mechanical and electrical installation works preferred.

* CCNSG Safety Passport, Manual Handling, Working at Height, Fire Safety Awareness
* Client-specific authorisations (SSE / Scottish Power / National Grid BESC, NSI6 / NSI8) beneficial.
