What is expected of the Mortgage Manager?
1. Model outstanding customer service and drive revenue within the Mortgage product.
2. Be accountable for delivering the Home (Mortgage) strategy.
3. Lead a high-performance culture within the bank to implement Mortgage KPIs.
4. Work with the Head of Private/CEO to maximise commercial opportunities and grow the business, ensuring customers are serviced by appropriate advisors in line with the Bank’s strategy.
5. Lead and foster a customer-first culture by providing face-to-face coaching, guidance, technical expertise, and regulatory supervision to Mortgage Advisors (MAs) and Relationship Managers (RMs).
6. Ensure the team’s compliance, sales quality, and professional standards, acting as the first line of defense to uphold regulatory requirements.
7. Recruit and retain Mortgage Advisors and RMs.
8. Maintain operational effectiveness of the Mortgage teams regarding both short-term and long-term impacts.
9. Establish robust procedures for the delivery and documentation of 'best advice'.
10. Implement the Private Banking mortgage strategy, including sales goals, P&L performance, and lead management.
11. Provide direct, visible leadership to ensure consistent strategy delivery and alignment.
12. Drive initiatives to generate income, reduce operational losses, contain costs, and strengthen community relationships.
13. Balance business growth with risk appetite within the mortgage team.
14. Maximize contribution by aligning product, service, and channel propositions with segmentation.
15. Gather and communicate customer feedback to marketing and product teams for continuous improvement.
16. Understand key competitors and market share to develop effective mortgage strategies.
17. Optimize mortgage distribution efficiency.
18. Oversee process streamlining and SLA management.
19. Supervise mortgage operational infrastructure.
What we look for in a Mortgage Manager?
Knowledge/Experience
* Experience leading a customer service team in financial services through direct channels.
* Knowledge of mortgage products is desirable but not essential.
* Progress towards QCF Level 4 qualification is preferable.
