Currently we are seeking a Arboriculture Consultant join our growing team and will consider applications for the following offices, Reading, London, Brighton, Bristol or High Wycombe. The Opportunity
Responsibilities
* Work on infrastructure projects including highways, energy and water sector nationwide, with an initial focus in the south.
* Be a member of our environmental team, reporting to our head of arboriculture, supporting the design and build of infrastructure projects, working with our town planners, environmental consultants, ecologists, landscape architects and others.
* A typical week may see you working on planning applications and on projects that benefit from permitted development rights.
* Undertake BS5837 tree surveys, produce arboriculture impact assessments, hedgerow surveys, coordinate TPO applications, lead in discussions with tree officers and affected stakeholders, support a design team on arboriculture matters (including helping to design out impacts on trees where possible); and deal with contractors and advise on tree protection and mitigation on building sites.
Qualifications
* You will have a degree or minimum Level 3 Arboriculture qualification (e.g., HNC Arb, AA Tech Cert, NDip Arb).
* Have experience delivering comprehensive arboricultural reports within tight time-frames to meet client requirements.
* Have a working understanding of undertaking tree surveys in accordance with BS 5837:2012.
* Communication skills and an eye for innovation and pragmatism in a design and build environment.
* Familiarity with CAD and digital survey hardware and software, including GIS.
* Proactive, with an ability to manage arboricultural sub-contractors where required.
