Do you have engineering delivery works from conception through to delivery and are you seeking a new job in Solihull? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Manufacturing Site Manager, and the role comes with an Umbrella contract rate of £40.00 – £45.00 per hour (Inside IR35). This role is for 8 months and is based in Solihull full time.

As a Manufacturing Site Manager, you will help in the delivery of GMEs core works and cover a wide spectrum of delivery, from feasibility, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover work.

This will include the potential need for some management tasks and coordinating of similar activities with other engineers in the project delivery team. These works can include all aspects of Infrastructure and logistic engineering solutions from concept to delivery, including Civils, Structural steelwork, mechanical designs / electrical & service installations and general building fitout within the plant being supported.

This will be a lead role, delivering and using the support of our inhouse and external vendors to deliver each program on time and budget. As Site Manager you will have to establish business requirements, engage with stakeholders and customers alike, and present sound engineering solutions. These will require elements of finance justification and once approved, you will lead the end result through to delivery.

These projects will include all aspects of Health and Safety.

This role is a key position in the delivery of GMEs core works, and covers a wide spectrum of delivery, from feasibility, procurement, manufacture, delivery, installation, commissioning and handover. This is a highly demanding role with green field opportunities providing a sense of autonomy and control over your work and opportunities for growth and development.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

1. Previous experience and strong background of engineering delivery works from conception through to delivery and completion is essential.
2. Experience in contractor management and site installations, to deliver benchmark Site Safety performance.
3. Clear understanding of site safety, Safety legislation (CDM 2015 Reg etc) and that of contractor management.
4. Broad knowledge of logistic engineering concepts and systems used and on the market.
5. Excellent knowledge of logistic engineering methods, materials and skills effecting (fit for purpose).
6. Excellent organisational and project management skills.
7. Proven experience in leading and managing teams to deliver against tight timescales and budgets.
8. Knowledge and experience of supporting the development and costing of proposals, right through to delivery and final project completion.
9. An individual with a customer first mindset who is easy to do business with and makes people feel special, driven to deliver experiences that are personalised, transparent and dependable.
10. Excellent communicator, having the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organisation.
11. Ability to motivate and drive a team through tough challenges maintaining drive and tenacity.
12. Ability to pull together functional and cross-functional teams to achieve goals and KPIs.
13. Resilient and enthusiastic with the ability to deliver results under pressure.
14. Ability to change under pressure and be flexible to business needs.
15. Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications in relation to physicals needed.

Preferred

1. AutoCAD exposure and the ability to create and modify engineering drawings.
2. Material flow understanding and the concept of logistic engineering developments on the market.
3. Experience with AGVs.
4. Experience with automation systems.
5. Proactive in your approach and develop relations with a number of internal and external stakeholders to drive the end result.

Education

1. Relevant Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred (but not essential) in Infrastructure, Plant, Electrical or Mechanical disciplines / industry.
2. Core Health and Safety knowledge (contractor management) such as NEBOSH Certificate (Construction), IOSH, SMSTS or similar.
