Specialist Respiratory Neuromuscular Physiotherapist
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to fill a Band 7 post within the Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy Team at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist or an existing Band 7 Therapist, with a specialist interest in neuromuscular respiratory physiotherapy to join our dynamic, forward thinking, and friendly team.
The team consists of a Band 8 Team Lead Physiotherapist, eight Band 7's, a static Band 6 and two general Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapists, with a Band 4 Assistant.
Main duties of the job
This post provides a highly specialised respiratory physiotherapy service to children, both inpatients and outpatients at GOSH, with Neuromuscular disorders. Knowledge of mechanical insufflation/exsufflation, non-invasive ventilation and other airway clearance techniques is essential, together with experience of educating and training family/caregivers.

Person Specification
* Degree or equivalent qualification in physiotherapy
* Health Professionals Council Registration
* Evidence of CPD, including attendance at relevant postgraduate courses
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Membership of appropriate clinical interest groups e.g. ACPRC/APCP
Experience/Knowledge
* Substantial post graduate experience with at least 3 years in paediatrics, including respiratory
* Knowledge of general principles of paediatric physiotherapy with advanced knowledge in paediatric cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
* Knowledge of mechanical insufflation/exsufflation, NIV and airway clearance techniques.
* Experience of educating caregivers to complete prescribed airway clearance techniques, including MI:E.
* Organising physiotherapy input into a relevant, specific clinical unit and contributing to the general running of a physiotherapy department.
* Supervision of physiotherapists, students and assistants
* Previous experience of Audit
* Knowledge of principles of research through practice and experience
* Understanding of professional development issues and NHS reform, legal and professional issues of child protection, inclusion, privacy & data protection

* Ability to work as part of both a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team
