Ballinderry Rivers Trust is seeking a motivated Catchment Officer to play a key role in the ‘For the Love of Our Waters’ (FLOW) project, funded by the Peace Plus programme, which is managed by the Special EU Programme Body (SEUPB). This initiative aims to improve water quality and biodiversity in four cross-border catchments, including the Swanlinbar/Claddagh River and Kilroosky Lake Cluster. What you’ll do: Work with farmers and landowners to design and implement nature-based solutions (NbS) that reduce agricultural pollution and enhance freshwater habitats. Support conservation of endangered species such as the freshwater pearl mussel and white-clawed crayfish. Deliver knowledge-sharing events to engage communities and promote sustainable land management. Collaborate with NGOs, research institutions, and government bodies across Northern Ireland and Ireland. What we’re looking for: Strong knowledge of NbS, water management, and agricultural systems. Experience in project delivery, ecological monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team. Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
