Job Purpose
Lead the technical delivery of high profile/complex work packages in support of Critical National Infrastructure projects in the Air Traffic Management domain
Other Duties Include
* Apply systems engineering principles to define, plan, and deliver to achieve the required outcomes
* Proportionate tailoring of processes, ensuring compliance to technical governance and requirements
* Accountable for the time, cost, quality, and alignment of the technical outputs, delivering a complete, coherent, and cost-effective solution
* Technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including 3 rd party suppliers
* Task-manage a team of engineers and subject matter experts
* Proactively identify, manage and resolve work package interdependencies, risks, issues and opportunities
* Accountable to the senior engineering lead for the technical delivery of the work packages.
* Work with the project managers to ensure that technical plans are credible and aligned to the overall delivery timescale
* Engage with resource managers to secure, and ensure early deconfliction of, the resources required to deliver the scope of work
* Follow best practice within NATS’ safety and service principles, adhering to our values

Essential Skills and Experience
* Bachelors degree (or equivalent RQF level 6 or SCQF level 10 qualification) in an Engineering or Technology discipline and have experience of managing the technical delivery of complex projects following industry best practice techniques (preferably in a safety related sector)
* As an alternative to the required qualification, the job holder may have completed structured engineering or technology training equivalent to the required qualification and have extensive experience in the field above
* Track record in making key decisions independently
* Able to work under pressure without compromising outcomes
* Confidence to constructively challenge peers and senior colleagues, providing recommendations and driving decisions
* Proven record of identifyingsolutions that focus on delivering pragmatic approaches, challenging the status quo where applicable, appreciating and able to balance cost, quality, and time and driving such solutions into delivery
* Confident communicator with all levels of stakeholders ranging from technical members of the team to senior business stakeholders
* Ability to translate complex engineering issues into plain English
* Demonstrable track record of resolving conflicts within teams; building positive relationships with stakeholders
* Experience of task management of multidisciplinary teams located across multiple sites; including integrated teams comprising permanent staff, temporary contractors and 3rd party suppliers
