An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 skilled and enthusiastic driver/handyperson's to join our care home team in Fife Council’s Residential and Day Services (East) on a temporary basis for 1 year.
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with experience of undertaking vehicle checks and ensuring all health and Safety legal requirements are met. The role will include supporting individuals and groups of passengers to have a safe and comfortable journey by providing any necessary guidance and assistance to enable them to use transport with confidence. The role also involves ensuring that any specialist equipment such as passenger lifts and wheelchair clamps are operated properly and undertake the handyperson duties as deemed appropriate.
The driver/handyperson will also be responsible for operating in a handyperson capacity, providing services including portage, minor repairs and maintenance to buildings, fixtures, furnishing and general maintenance of internal and external areas as required. You will have the responsibility of undertaking delegated health and safety tasks such as fire drill, water and building checks and completing the appropriate recording/reporting within the care homes.

1. Ability to prioritise workload
2. Knowledge of Health and Safety issues required for the maintenance of vehicles.
3. Knowledge of Health and Safety issues required for the safety of buildings
4. You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team, as well as have the ability to work alone.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
