We're looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Care Coordinator to join our team at Compass House. This is a full time, 12 month fixed term maternity cover role (34-38 hours per week), with the potential to become permanent for the right person.
The working pattern is over four days, 8am – 6pm, and includes Fridays. Pay starts at £12.81 per hour, rising to £12.95 after successful completion of probation.
Main duties of the job
* The role is the first step of our patient journey to support people to get the help and care that they need. It involves a mixture of working on the front desk, answering calls and administrative work. The following list is not exhaustive but includes the types of jobs for the role:
* Booking appointments, deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow‑up appointments.
* Using your own judgment and communication skills, ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non‑disruptive manner.
* Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
* Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are filed promptly and in the correct records, ensuring that all recent correspondence is available when patients are seen.
* Processing referrals
* Dealing with insurance reports/requests for private work and copy notes through paper requests and iGPR.

Job responsibilities
Job summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
