A supportive primary school in Maldon is looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Learning Mentors, or Healthcare Assistants to join their SEN provision team.
No previous school experience? No problem! We welcome applicants with backgrounds as support workers, youth workers, healthcare assistants, or anyone with personal experience supporting children or young people. Your patience, adaptability, and passion for helping children are what matter most.
This role gives you the chance to make a real impact, helping children with a variety of special educational needs to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with SEN.
Assist in delivering learning activities and practical support to help children access the curriculum.
Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive relationships.
Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to implement individual support plans.
Help maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive environment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a support role is welcomed but school experience is not essential.
Background as a support worker, healthcare assistant, youth worker, or similar is valued.
A patient, friendly, and flexible approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
