Overview

This is a 6 month contract to cover parental leave. It is a hybrid role working from our central London hubs 2 days per week. This is an immediate start vacancy.


Team and role

You'll work within the central Creative team at UW, reporting into the Design Leads. The role is highly collaborative and you'll have the opportunity to work with, and learn from, a diverse and talented design team. You’ll work closely with the team to deliver progress.


What you'll do and how you will make an impact

* As a Junior Designer, you’ll get stuck into creating visually engaging designs from concept through to delivery.
* Support senior creatives with the design of print and digital marketing assets, from social media banners and Google Display ads to booklets and merch.
* Adhere to brand guidelines to ensure brand consistency across all outputs.
* Leverage existing templates for some day-to-day tasks.
* Maintain a high standard of design in all work.
* Participate in and contribute to creative workshops and team meetings.
* Show a willingness to learn and grow from constructive feedback.

Key skills & experience

* A well-rounded portfolio showing examples of print and digital work (Please share a copy/link in your application).
* Experience working either in-house or for a creative agency.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Figma. Knowledge of Google Workspace (Slides, Docs) is desirable.
* Solid layout and typography skills.
* Illustration, iconography, and motion graphics skills are a bonus.
* Knowledge of art direction, ideation and concepting advantageous.


You'll also bring

* Curiosity with a passion for design and an eagerness to learn and grow.
* Organisation, punctuality and great time management.
* Conceptual thinking with the ability to work from scamp level through to execution.
* Good communication skills and an interest in developing your presentation skills to confidently articulate ideas.
* An eye for detail.
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
