In collaboration with Swindon Borough Council, we are dedicated to providing high-quality accommodation and support for UASC - Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (16-25 years old) in the area.
Could you be our next Service Manager?
Based at a spacious home near the heart of Swindon, you'll oversee a welcoming environment with ample living and office space, offering accommodation for up to 6 young people, predominantly Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children. Given that this service is regulated by Ofsted, any prior experience in a similar setting would be highly advantageous.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the safety, security, and efficient operation of the home for both residents and staff.
2. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the needs of young people in care, particularly those who are unaccompanied asylum seeking children.
3. Possess knowledge about the impact of trauma on behaviour and employ appropriate strategies to support residents.
4. Provide individualised plans and support for each resident, fostering strong multi-agency links and relationships.
5. Utilise excellent organisational and management skills to empower your team in delivering a high-quality service to those in our care.
6. Collaborate with a passionate and dedicated team, committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people in care.
7. Hold a valid driver's licence with access to your own vehicle.

Position: Service Manager - Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (Job ID 855)
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Swindon
Pay: £29,400 per year Band E

^Annual Leave entitlement will be pro-rata for Part-time staff. Working on public holidays due to a rota pattern will be compensated with time off in lieu. An extra day of leave accrues for each completed financial year (capped at 5). Purchasing additional holidays is capped at 5 per year.
^^Contracted staff only. Business mileage (45p a mile) is paid for any daily miles over and above the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back. You'll need a well-maintained vehicle with valid tax, MOT and Insurance covering business use.
