Field Service Engineer (Diesel Engines) – Doncaster
Basic salary starting at £37,423 per annum + Company Van + Fuel Card + laptop + mobile + overtime available.

You will be joining an organisation synonymous with engineering excellence, developing leading power generation technology solutions for customers in the marine, construction, agricultural, rail and defence sectors (amongst others). A genuine leader in their field, this company provides comprehensive training for engineers to reflect the developing and emerging technology in its product range. Customer relationships are key, hence the Service Engineer we are looking for will have a clear track record of delivering added value services in client facing roles.
Responsibilities
* Carry out fault diagnostics on modern diesel engines and propulsion systems, including downloading data and ECU familiarity.
* Provide remote diagnostics and condition monitoring to identify likely faults before on-site inspection.
* Ensure performance and availability of diesel engines in rolling stock through hands-on work and product expertise.
* Participate in complete product training and act as a product expert for the assigned equipment.
* Engage with customers in a professional, service-oriented manner to deliver value and solution-oriented support.
Qualifications
* Qualified to NVQ3 (minimum).
* Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines and/or propulsion systems and associated electrical control technology (ECUs).
* Demonstrable fault diagnostics and remote diagnostics capabilities.
* Ability to work in a safety-critical customer location; pre-employment checks include medicals, drug and alcohol screens.
* Open to ex-forces personnel and engineers from Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV or Bus sectors; commitment to developing a career in Rail is noted.
* Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
The Role Details
* As the Rail Service Engineer, perform fault diagnostics on diesel engines, with data downloads and ECU familiarity.
* Full product training will be provided; role involves remote diagnostics to identify faults and support fault resolution through condition monitoring.
* Shifts: 4 on, 4 off; 40 hours per week.
