Job Overview
The Health Records Clerk will be responsible for providing an essential support service in the continuing care of patients, ensuring that the casenotes are at the right place at the right time. The role also requires supporting the delivery of the Health Records Operational Plan, working with the Health Records Co‑ordinator/Assistant Site Manager to promote the vision for a digital records future and the modernisation plans for Health Records.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist in the provision of case notes for patient care both Outpatient and Acute, ensuring all case notes are delivered and prepared to Service Level Agreements. The post holder will carry out weeding of existing case notes in line with the organisation’s Retention and Destruction Policy, and keep the Patient tracking system accurate and up to date. Other duties include: physical retrieval, filing and preparation of case notes, working efficiently under tight deadlines, managing workload prioritisation and supporting an efficient outpatient reception service. Good communication, accuracy and the ability to work independently and under initiative are essential.
