Silcoates is a successful independent co-educational day school with a long and proud history. We achieve excellent academic results and offer a broad and stimulating variety of co-curricular activities. We are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Careers Advisor. The school is set in 60 acres of grounds in Wrenthorpe, near Wakefield, within easy reach of the M1 and M62, offering an all-through, fully co-educational day school experience for children from 2 to 18.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced practitioner to develop and lead our excellent careers provision, guiding and informing our pupils at key stages in their education.
The successful applicant will hold a Level 4 or 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and Development. You should be self-motivated and enthusiastic, able to communicate well with young people and be able to develop good working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You should be credible and professional and possess strong knowledge of careers and higher education pathways and options.
The role is permanent, term time only (35 weeks of term plus INSET days). Hours of work will be 15 hours per week, with the exact working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate. You will need to be flexible towards working hours to fit in with school events and the requirements of the role.
