Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer, and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed, and extruded products for the building industry.
Role Overview: The ASM will be responsible for converting sales leads into profitable business contracts while developing and maximising relationships with existing and new customers, including Roofing, Builders, and Plumbing merchants and distributors. The role involves creating demand by gaining business with builders and contractors and conducting site visits to ensure specifications are being adhered to.
This position covers the South Thames area, including BN, BR, CR, CT, DA, GU, KT, ME, RH, SE, SM, SW, TN, TW. Candidates should reside within this patch.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer contacts, market intelligence, and stakeholder information, ensuring timely updates to the Sales Director using Salesforce.
* Generate sales leads into profitable business, maximising revenue through strategic and target account pursuits, including existing and new accounts.
* Develop long-term relationships with designated customers and develop new leads to maximise sales.
* Provide timely and accurate quotations and proposals aligned with customer requirements.
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure resources are available for proposals.
* Offer expert advice on the product portfolio to customers.
* Identify opportunities to sell additional business and develop relationships with competitors' customers.
* Contribute to sales bids and support the business sales strategy.
* Assist in planning and promoting new products to customers.
* Maintain knowledge of technological developments within the industry.
Skills & Requirements
* Experience in external sales or account management.
* Experience in the building construction industry, particularly with merchants.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to produce accurate quotations and presentations.
* Driving licence and ability to travel within the UK.
