About Prolific
Prolific is not just another player in the AI space – we are building the biggest pool of quality human data in the world. Over 35,000 AI developers, researchers, and organizations use Prolific to gather data from paid study participants with a wide variety of experiences, knowledge, and skills.
Role
We’re looking for Chemistry Experts and Chemical Engineers to join our Expert Network to help train and evaluate cutting‑edge AI models using real‑world chemical expertise. If you have the necessary experience, you’ll complete a brief test to assess your skills. Successful candidates will be invited to join Prolific as a participant, where they can earn up to $60 per hour by completing paid tasks that require one hour of uninterrupted work, though many are shorter.
What You'll Bring
Education: A BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related Physical Science field.
Professional Experience: Experience in laboratory research, industrial chemical processing, pharmaceutical R&D, or academic instruction.
Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of organic, inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms.
Safety & Compliance: Thorough understanding of chemical safety protocols (SDS), GHS standards, and regulatory requirements (EPA, REACH, FDA).
Analytical Precision: Ability to identify errors in complex IUPAC nomenclature, stoichiometry, molecular geometry, and thermodynamic calculations.
Communication: Ability to explain intricate reaction pathways or molecular interactions in clear, technically accurate language.
Additional Requirement: A PayPal account to receive payment.
What You'll Be Doing In The Role
* Evaluate AI-Generated Chemistry: Review model responses to advanced chemistry queries for factual accuracy, structural integrity, and logical reasoning.
* Fact-Check Reactions & Formulas: Validate AI-generated chemical reactions, balance equations, and ensure proposed synthetic routes are viable and safe.
* Audit Technical Documentation: Review model-generated lab protocols, safety summaries, and spectral interpretations (NMR, IR, Mass Spec) for accuracy.
* Annotate Molecular Data: Identify and correct errors in SMILES strings, 2D/3D molecular representations, and property predictions.
* Safety Monitoring: Ensure AI outputs do not provide instructions for the synthesis of hazardous, illicit, or restricted substances.
