Oldham MPS SEN Allowance Temporary (with potential to become permanent) a specialist SEND provision in Oldham is looking to appoint an Autism Provision Teacher to work with pupils who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional communication needs.
This isn't a typical classroom role
* it's an opportunity to teach in a setting where structure, routine, and personalised learning are essential.
You’ll be supporting pupils who benefit from a tailored approach that focuses just as much on confidence and communication as it does on academic progress.
In this role, you will:
* Deliver individualised lessons built around each pupil's needs and EHCP targets
* Support learners with communication differences, sensory needs, and social development
* Use structured teaching approaches (visual supports, routines, step-by-step learning)
* Adapt quickly to meet a wide range of learning styles and abilities
* Encourage independence, interaction, and emotional awareness
* Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals
* Build strong links with parents and carers to support consistent progress
* Create a classroom that feels predictable, safe, and encouraging Success in this role is about helping pupils feel understood, secure, and ready to engage with learning in their own way.
This role would suit someone who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Has experience with ASC or additional learning needs (or a strong interest in SEN)
* Is confident delivering adapted and highly personalised teaching
* Remains calm, flexible, and solution-focused
* Values small-step progress and individual achievements
* Enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
