Band 4-5 Pharmacy Technician/Senior Pharmacy Technician

(Dependant on Experience)

We are looking to recruit an innovative pharmacy technician to provide leadership, development and management to our expanding General Practice Pharmacy Technician and pharmacy support staff team in Tayside. The General Practice Senior Pharmacy Technician role involves working alongside clinical pharmacists and pharmacy support staff in a range of environments including GP practices, care homes, community hospitals and patients own homes with an emphasis on high quality patient centred pharmaceutical care.

The postholder will work alongside the Specialist Pharmacy Technician and contribute to the delivery of the General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service to achieve high quality patient care.

Key Roles

1. Manage operational development to meet patient needs in designated area
2. Ensures delivery of an accurate, efficient, and high-quality General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service delivery
3. Participate in audits and implement national, regional, and departmental recommendations
4. Develop and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for efficient service
5. Identify staff development needs, ensure competency, and provide work-based training

The applicant must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain (GPhC). Experience of primary care is desirable.

8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills in complex or challenging situations
9. The ability to establish and maintain relationships with a range of other professionals
10. The ability to adapt to change and meet tight deadlines
11. Possess excellent clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills
12. Experience of audit, review and service improvement work
13. Experience in delivering training sessions to a variety of staff groups
