Senior QC Scientist
Location – Cambridgeshire

Salary – £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)

We are currently offering the opportunity for a Senior QC Scientist to join a company based in Cambridgeshire which produce specialised chemicals used in various products, including medicines and electronics.
This role is well suited to someone with experience leading or managing QC laboratory operations within a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with strong technical expertise in analytical chemistry and ISO 9001 regulations.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
Due to the remote location of the role, only applicants with a valid driving licence and car access will be considered.
The Role
As a Senior QC Scientist, you will be responsible for:
Managing the daily activities of the QC laboratory, ensuring that production deadlines are met,
Performing QC analysis using techniques including HPLC, GC, and Karl Fischer,
Training and mentorship of junior QC analyst,
Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting – particularly with HPLC and GC,
Managing quality documentation (e.g. CAPAs, NCRs, audits),
Process & method development to improve efficiency.
Current / Recent Experience Required:
Expertise in ISO 9001 quality systems (essential).
Expertise in HPLC & GC analysis – including optimisation, method development, and troubleshooting (essential)
Prior experience working within a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (essential).
Prior experience training and mentoring junior scientists (essential)
A chemistry-related degree, ideally with a background in organic chemistry (desirable).
Profile Required:
Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridgeshire (essential).
A valid driving licence & access to a car due to the remote location of the role (essential).
