While a review of the overarching structure for the organisation is being developed, some aspects of cluster 3 will fall into the remit of this role.

Working closely with clinical leaders and matrons for the cluster and reporting directly to the Associate Director, you will be responsible for the financial, people and operational management of high performing departments and lead on various service improvement projects to support the achievement of the emergency standards. As one of three general management roles within the division, you will work closely as part of a committed and passionate multi‑disciplinary team.

This is a significant opportunity for an experienced manager who wishes to extend their skills and knowledge within a high‑profile leadership role in an outstanding organisation committed to delivering high quality patient care.

* Support the Clinical Director in developing patient‑centred services, meeting key financial and operational performance targets, and implementing effective processes for delivering national and local targets.
* Identify and exploit opportunities for service redesign through the application of relevant service improvement techniques.
* Deputise for the Associate Director as required and participate in the on‑call rota for the Trust.
* Act in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to review and improve cost‑effective service delivery.

Qualifications – Essential

* Degree level education or equivalent evidence of sound intellectual ability and ongoing personal development at senior management level.
* Recognised postgraduate management qualification or equivalent experience.
* Significant general and operational management experience, including the management of a large multidisciplinary team within the NHS.
* Proven record of success in managing significant operational or strategic change, maintaining high‑quality service provision and leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrable leadership, influencing and staff development skills.
* Evidence of sound budgetary and financial management experience.
* Experience in service redesign and project management.

Qualifications – Desirable

* Masters level education.
* Experience working with external organisations (CCGs, GP practices, social services departments).
* Experience managing quality, clinical audit, governance or risk management issues.
* Evidence of implementing strategies to reduce or meet junior doctor hours.

Essential Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at all levels.
* IT literate.
* Strong knowledge of NHS performance management standards and service improvement techniques.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise duties and manage organisational development.
* Commitment to staff and organisational development, ongoing learning and the Trust's values.

Personal Attributes – Essential

* Proven self‑confidence and ability to assert own position on issues.
* Flexibility, self‑motivation, integrity, and commitment to openness and honesty in the role.
* Strong commitment to the Trust’s values and to delivering high‑quality patient services.
