Security Engineer, Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Meta's security team is responsible for data and systems security across the company and its apps. The team works to prevent malicious activities, detect and respond to threats, and maintain security protections while engaging with the community to share knowledge. The Security Engineer will have experience with security policies, risk management, and access control, collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage internal system access and security measures. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement security systems for Meta’s IAM.
2. Develop and maintain tools to enhance IAM security posture.
3. Conduct design and code reviews to improve efficiency, scalability, and stability.
4. Identify and implement improvements in codebases and systems.
5. Collaborate with other teams to incorporate innovations.
6. Communicate security findings to stakeholders.
7. Recommend and implement security controls balancing cost and benefits.
8. Participate in security issue resolution and process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
* 2+ years experience with Python/C++ and PHP/Hack.
* BSc in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years of software development experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Program and project management skills.
* Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
* Knowledge of security regulations like SOX, SOC2, NIST, PCI, ISO.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
* Experience in security reporting and recommendations.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of system architecture and data-flow in different regions.
* Experience in assessing and mitigating security deficiencies.
