Classic Vehicle Technician required in South Oxford.
1. SALARY: Between £35-40,000 per annum, pending experience.
2. HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
Our client, an independent, family-run garage based in South Oxford specialising in classic cars and motorsport vehicles, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to join their team!
Reporting to the Business Owner and working as part of a long-standing team, your key responsibilities will include:
3. Underbody restorations, brake/fuel pipe replacement, general mechanical repairs and servicing, tyre fitting and wheel alignment.
4. Vehicle strip-down and assembly, refurbishment and overhaul of all vehicle mechanical parts for restoration.
5. Mechanical/electrical fault diagnosis and repair, aftermarket ECU installation and custom wiring looms.
6. Major engine and transmission overhauls/repairs, engine rebuilds and modifications.
To be eligible, you will ideally be a fully qualified Vehicle Technician to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and have at least two to three years’ technical experience post-qualification. HOWEVER, our client is also willing to consider time-served Vehicle Technicians with no formal qualification, provided they have strong demonstrable mechanical experience and a background working with classic cars or motorsport vehicles. You will need to hold a UK driving licence with minimal points, be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a stringent workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Candidates with experience of welding/fabrication or general vehicle body repair would be highly beneficial but it is non-essential.
