Grade UE07: £41,064 to £48,822 per annum, pro rata

Fixed term: 24 months

Part time: 24.5 hours per week

The Opportunity:

The Barnahus Impact Evaluation: Towards Measuring the Impact of European Barnahus research project aims to develop and test a European Barnahus Evaluation Framework informed by a review of the Barnahus Standards and a consultative process with children and young people, the Barnahus Network, Network Members, and the project Scientific Committee.

You will will focus on the child study element of the project which aims to ensure the European Evaluation Framework is informed by children and young people's experiences, priorities and needs; and reflects the needs and priorities of children and young people who use or have potential to use Barnahus. You will develop and undertake child consultation workshops across Europe and support the development of a theory of change for the Barnahus in consultation with key stakeholders.

This post is part time for 24.5 hours per week, and is fixed term from as early as 5 January 2026, to end 31 December 2027. Start date of this post may be subject to delay pending conclusion of grant start-up contracting.

The post will require international travel across Europe for fieldwork.

As the job involves undertaking research with children affected by maltreatment it requires:

* Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) Registration
Home Country Criminal Record Check

The salary for this post is £41,064 to £48,822 per annum pro rata.

Your skills and attributes for success:

* An appropriate postgraduate degree, with relevant post-graduate research experience. Normally a PhD or substantial research experience.
* Experience in undertaking mixed methods research and/or qualitative research.
* Previous research experience in the field of children and young people affected by abuse or involved in social work services.
* Advanced knowledge about the issues impacting on children and young people who have experienced or witnessed abuse or violence, and knowledge of children's rights and European rights frameworks.
Experience of undertaking a systematic literature review and advanced methodological expertise in how to document, monitor and evaluate mixed method or qualitative research.
