Role Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects at Nidec Drives. You will be part of the global procurement team, responsible for delivering procurement projects and new product introduction (NPD) programs. This includes managing key projects, collaborating across business units, and ensuring procurement requirements are met through effective project management, communication, and reporting.
You and your team will oversee projects from inception to delivery, demonstrating performance in commercial and project timelines during bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director. As a key leader, you will influence the procurement strategy, ensuring sourcing decisions support our overall direction and strategic vision.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Contributing to strategic business and financial objectives, main responsibilities include:
* Aligning with Global Procurement Category Managers on strategies and goals.
* Ensuring cross-functional requirements are integrated into project reporting.
* Collaborating globally with regions and functions for optimal performance.
* Leading project management meetings and reviews.
Tactical Execution:
* Developing and managing procurement NPD and project plans, reporting progress.
* Leading reviews internally and with the wider business.
* Supporting NPD plans to meet tight deadlines.
* Working with regions to implement NPD plans aligned with targets.
* Maintaining KPIs to measure project execution.
Team Structure and People Management:
* Providing leadership for the procurement NPD team.
* Advocating for our procurement approach and serving as a knowledge resource.
* Monitoring and reviewing performance of NPD and project plans.
* Communicating effectively across all levels of the business.
* Conducting regular reviews with procurement teams and stakeholders.
Relationship Management:
* Developing strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
* Fostering collaboration with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
* Facilitating delivery and performance through stakeholder engagement.
Travel Requirements:
* Potential travel to Nidec locations and suppliers, including international and long-haul trips.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
* CIPS, Business Bachelor’s Degree, or Project Management qualification.
* Proven experience in procurement, projects, or supply chain, preferably in manufacturing.
* Familiarity with electronics and mechanical raw parts (preferred).
* Experience in project management within complex, cost-sensitive environments.
* Structured, proactive, and logical thinking.
