Join our Rail team as a Quantity Surveyor for the Transport for London track renewals project and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and become involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the industry. The role offers hybrid working and flexible working requests are also available. Purpose of role is to: Manage all costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works Provide support to senior members of team in delivering varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chain Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers Assist with commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle process What you'll be doing As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the following accountabilities: Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility Collation of cost and value information Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates Translate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works and understanding of delay and disruption programmes Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements Collect information required to specify procurement requirements Record and document information including registration of interest Who we're looking for The following qualifications or equivalent are essential: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience The following qualities/experience are desirable: An organised, innovative and creative Quantity Surveyor with experience of working on Projects Previous experience of managing costs and maximising value Experience of financial and commercial control within a project Experience of procuring and managing supply chain Experience of working as part of commercial teams Maintain a Personal Development Plan Supports the development of others Membership of RICS or ICES or working towards this accreditation Proven record of working to deadlines, working efficiently and to a high standard Experience of infrastructure projects with resilience and determination to succeed Why work for us Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UKs most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.
