Salary: £24,500 - 42,000 per year Requirements: Senior leadership experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or CI/CD governance within complex organisations. Proven experience setting standards and providing assurance in SI-led or multi-supplier delivery models. Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, environment management, and release control at scale. Experience embedding security, quality, and audit requirements into delivery processes. Comfortable using data and evidence to challenge, influence, and support decision-making at senior levels. Strong relationship-building skills, with the credibility to work across technology teams and partners. Desirable: Experience working with SaaS platforms and integration-heavy environments. Desirable: Background in DevOps or platform transformation programmes. Desirable: Familiarity with Agile, scaled delivery models, or capability frameworks such as SFIA. Responsibilities: Set and own the enterprise DevOps approach, defining clear standards for CI/CD pipelines, environments, release practices, and automation that apply consistently across all software delivery. Govern and assure DevOps practices delivered by System Integrator partners and internal teams, ensuring they meet M Group expectations for quality, security, traceability, and auditability. Define and oversee the enterprise environment strategy, ensuring non-production environments are stable, production-like, and automated to support reliable testing and release decisions. Embed security, quality checks, and operational visibility into delivery as standard, reducing late-stage risk and increasing confidence in what is released to production. Use data and insight to give leaders a clear, honest view of delivery health, risks, and improvement opportunities, focusing on long-term fixes rather than short-term workarounds. Act as the recognised enterprise authority for DevOps, working across Technology, Service Operations, and partners to promote consistent, automated, and sustainable ways of working.
