We are now looking for a Specialist Painter and Decorator to join our lovely Maintenance team. We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Painter & Decorator to join the engineering team of our prestigious five-star hotel, set within a beautifully preserved 18th century manor house. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the historic character, elegance, and impeccable presentation expected of a luxury heritage property. The successful candidate will combine traditional craftsmanship with a meticulous eye for detail, working sensitively within a listed building environment while meeting modern five-star hospitality standards. Responsibilities include: Carry out high-quality painting and decorating works throughout the manor house, guest bedrooms, public areas, spa, restaurants, and back-of-house spaces. Prepare surfaces using traditional and modern methods, including plaster repair, sanding, stripping, and priming, with particular care for historic finishes and substrates. Apply paints, varnishes, limewash, and specialist heritage coatings in line with conservation best practices. Restore and maintain decorative features such as cornices, mouldings, panelling, sash windows, doors, and period detailing. Work closely with the Maintenance and Housekeeping teams to schedule works with minimal disruption to guests. Ensure all work complies with conservation requirements, health and safety regulations, and hotel brand standards. Identify and report defects, wear, or damage to historic fabric and finishes. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and professional manner. Support refurbishment and seasonal maintenance programmes, including planned preventative maintenance. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent) or time served. Heritage or conservation training (desirable but not essential).
