Clinical 1. To independently undertake a wide range of MRI procedures, ensuring high professional standards of technical competence and patient care are maintained at all times. 2. Able to work in an advanced practitioner capacity, with a high degree of autonomy to provide clinical support and advice to other radiographic practitioners.
1. In complex and challenging clinical situations, use a range of skills and strategies to deal with the issues presented and to lead new practice and service developments. Communication and relationship building 1. To communicate information concerning their specialist imaging modality areas to patients/clients, relatives, and other professionals.
2. To appropriately manage situations where the communication topic is extremely delicate, sensitive, or controversial (for example: with work colleagues, service users, relatives, etc). 3. Be able to react dynamically to changes and operational issues which will present themselves frequently.
Responsibilities for analysis 1. Must possess skills for accurately assessing a range of complex, acute and other patient conditions so as to tailor diagnostic scanning protocols which take into account the optimization of the diagnostic images gained. 2. Must handle complicated situations made up of several components, which may be conflicting or where some information is unavailable.
1. Must be responsible to stream workflows to the correct clinicians and prioritise patients clinically based on clinical need. Responsibilities for planning and organisation of activities 1. The post holder is responsible for organising the daily workload.
2. Must ensure appropriate skill mix and training support for those staff performing MRI duties; juggling case mix and urgency of workload ensuring the department provides a timely service. 3. Balance of service needs with the training needs of staff within MRI is a complex evaluation task which is a requirement of the post holder and will need to be continuously undertaken.
