About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team from May 2026. This role involves providing 2:1 support for pupils who require additional assistance to access the curriculum and thrive in a structured learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both academic progress and social-emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 2:1 support to pupils with additional needs
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans
* Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
* Support pupils in developing communication, social, and behavioural skills
* Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a 2:1 or 1:1 support role
* Strong understanding of supporting children with additional needs (e.g. SEN, ASD, ADHD, or SEMH)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
