Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and strategically focused Commercial Leader to join our UK leadership team. This high-impact role is primarily focused on driving B2B sales performance, building and converting pipelines, and leading the commercial function to deliver sustained business growth. It requires a strong manufacturing background and strong track record in commercial and sales leadership within a B2B environment.
This role will oversee a commercial team of approximately 15, covering Key Account Management (KAM), New Product Development (NPD), and Internal Sales. The successful candidate will align commercial strategy with operational capability, ensuring that growth is both profitable and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and execute the commercial strategy aligned with company goals and manufacturing capabilities.
* Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional commercial teams, including:
* Sales Teams drive pipeline generation and conversion and deliver profitable sales growth.
* Key Account Managers to strengthen strategic partnerships and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
* New Product Development teams to align innovation with market demand and commercial goals.
* Internal Sales teams to improve responsiveness, customer service, and support sales effectiveness.
* Cultivate a proactive, growth-oriented culture within the team, with a strong ‘hunting’ mindset to pursue and win new business.
* Directly manage key customer accounts and foster long-term, high-value relationships.
* Identify and respond to market trends, competitor movements, and untapped commercial opportunities.
* Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure commercial activity is aligned with capacity and financial performance.
* Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiation, commercial terms and margin management.
* Support innovation and product development initiatives based on real-time market intelligence and customer feedback.
* Represent the company externally at senior levels, including key customer engagements, industry forums, and trade bodies.
Qualifications
* Proven experience (7+ years) in a senior commercial or sales leadership role within a B2B industrial or manufacturing environment; glass manufacturing experience is preferable but not essential.
* Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated ability to build, lead and develop high-performing commercial teams across sales, product development, and customer engagement functions.
* Strong experience in pipeline development and sales conversion, with a measurable track record of revenue growth.
* Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Commercially savvy, with a strong understanding of product lifecycle management, pricing strategy, and customer profitability.
* Hands-on, results-driven leader with strategic vision and operational awareness.
* Experience working in mid-sized to large organizations, with knowledge of matrix environments and cross-functional collaboration.
